ガットギターを頂いた！

I got a gut guitar!

先月の息子の誕生会で、義母の知り合いから楽器をもらった。35年前ぐらいのガットギターGRAND SHINANO GS150とGStringのソプラノ・タイプのウクレレ、それとCasiotone MT-70シンセだ。ウクレレとカシオトーンは弾かないと思うので売ることにしたが、ガットギターは良く鳴るし、欲しかったので手元に置くことにした。35年分の汚れを落とすことにしよう。

At my son's birthday party last month, I got an instrument from an acquaintance of her mother-in-law. It's a gut guitar GRAND SHINANO GS150 about 35 years ago, a soprano type ukulele of GString, and a Casiotone MT-70 synth. I don't think I'll play the ukulele and Casiotone, so I decided to sell them, but the gut guitar sounds good and I wanted it, so I decided to keep it handy. Let's clean it for 35 years.

GRAND SHINANOの掃除は、ギターポリッシュであらかたの汚れを取ってから、弦巻きやブリッジはプラ部にも使えるPiKALをブラシに付けて擦り取ると、まあまあ綺麗になった。力を入れていたのでまた指が痛くなってしまった。（こうやって度々指を痛めてしまう）

To clean GRAND SHINANO, I used a guitar polish to remove any dirt, and then I applied PiKAL, which can also be used for the plastic part of the string winding and bridge, to the brush and rubbed it off. My fingers hurt again because I was working hard.

GRAND SHINANO GS150

リペア完了、乾いたいい音がする。柔らかいナイロン弦は安定するのに一週間かかった。

Repair is complete, and there is a nice dry sound. The soft nylon strings took a week to stabilize.

2021年3月12日

GRAND SHINANO ブリッジサドル

弦高を低くする為にガットギターのサドルを削って調整したのだが、何を血迷ったかナットと同じように溝を作ってしまい（右下）鳴らしたら音がデッドになってしまった！慌ててサドルの溝をなくして波形に改良したら元に戻った。(^_^;)

I adjusted it by scraping the saddle of the gut guitar to lower the string height, but I made a groove like a nut (lower right) and the sound became dead when I rang it! I hurriedly removed the saddle groove and improved the waveform, and then it returned to the original state.
