G-FR-62GT Maintenance / Improvement

G-FR-62GTのピックアップの「ポールピース」が錆びていることに気がついた。かなりの年月放ったらかしだ。最近音が曇っているような気がしたのでメンテ。 「ポールピース」の錆びをヤスリで取り、アームキャップの修理とファインチューナやテンションバーにちょっと化粧を施した。G-FR-62GTはアッシュ材なので、ULTRA HEAVYなのが玉に瑕。

I noticed that the "pole piece" of the G-FR-62GT pickup was rusted. It seems like it's been released for quite some time. I felt that the sound was cloudy recently, so I maintained it. I removed the rust on the "pole piece" with a file, repaired the arm cap, and applied a little makeup to the fine tuner and tension bar. Since G-FR-62GT is made of ash, it has the disadvantage of being ULTRA HEAVY.

G-FR-62GTの弦高調整

ロックナット側の弦高がかなり低くてビビりが出やすい状態になっていた。普通の”ロックナットスペーサー”だけでは足りないので、マグネットテープを改良したものを差し込んで高さを合わせた。今までテンションバーで弦を押し付けて張りを出そうとしていたが、今回は摩擦抵抗を減らすために緩めて見た。そして、長らくトラスロッドカバーは一本のネジで固定されていたが、下の二本を追加してしっかりと３点どめにした。

The string height on the locknut side was quite low, and it was easy for chatter to occur. Since the ordinary "locknut spacer" is not enough, I inserted an improved magnet tape to adjust the height. Until now, I was trying to push the strings with the tension bar to get tension, but this time I loosened it to reduce frictional resistance. And, for a long time, the truss rod cover was fixed with one screw, but I added the bottom two and made it firmly to the third point.
